Reducing the Internet's Energy Consumption

The Climate Savers Initiative and other projects aim to reduce the 61 billion kilowatt-hours or 1.5% of total US energy consumption, equivalent to 15 power plants worth of electrical energy that was used to power the Internet in 2006 (that's $4.5 billion worth of hydro).
